This sounds like a bunch of other dudes that have done the same because they were either lazy or didn't know the music and wanted others to do the work for them. You posted and I will apologize for my comment. Quote:So according to you we should get rid of all the Hip-Hop&R&B 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014 Forum Posts? Nobody asked 'YOU' meaning Nino to post thousands of bangers.

We are all here to help each other either do your part or leave the post aloneyou could look thru all the itunes best of 98-2005, look at charts, google extensively, etc etc, and then give a list of maybe your top 100. Then ask what it looks like you are missing, otherwise we dont know what style or region you may be missing.most people diss this post because with the tools available at this point it would be very easy to assemble 2-500 song over a few weeks. Maybe ask for some overlooked hits or anthems for regions or cities. But just late 90s to early 2000s, we could be here forever posting the same thing.

First off, how do you define late 90s/early 2000s?I would draw the line from ´97-2003.So much good music at that time, golden era!I'm a huge fan of Pharrell/The Neptunes, so you can practically pull out every song they've produced and they had hit after hit in this era. Other very good and successful producers were The Trackmasters, Dr. Dre, Timbaland, Swizz Beatz. The whole pool of guys who worked for Bad Boy.R.

I miss the 90's. Quote:the most popular dl's and videos are what people are gonna wanna hear 15-20 years later.well i put the theory to a test and in most cases the actual banger was not the most popular record. So sure it leads you in the right direction but in no way does this method help without adding more fillers or tracks you will never need to your library as apposed to actual bangers. So again, If you do not already know the music this method will not identify what that specific track is even if you download the top 10 by the artist.

Faith

I agree with Pdiddy - remember I'm old but off the top of my head I couldn't remember a 'banger' or popular song at first glance by the following from that list.East Flatbush Project, Gravediggaz, The Roots (without Badu), Illegal, All City. Heltah Skeltah, Big Noyd. And Nubian CrackersWhat was Funkdoobiest - hit - can't remember that one either, Just remember they were on same label as Volume 10 - Pistol Grip Pump - lolSong titles help a lot in this situation unless you only had one or two hits like Apache or Xclan or as BUNCH of hits like Biggie or Pac. Quote:of course it doesnt if you are playing for people from the generation, but these young kids arent from that generation.

From what i get, they have a totally different takes on a lot of these songs.the funniest one for me is coolio-'gangster's paradise', young white kids love that song and i cant think of any hip hop club that would have touched that at the time.I feel like Black people loved that song for a few months, then got tired of it. A lot of songs go that way.anything from Nelly, or even DMX 'Party up'. So many great posts here, try this website out,You input the year, and it gives you I think all the tracks that made it to the charts. And when you see the tracks, it will jog your memory.I use this website alot when I am trying to put together like an 80s set or a 2000's pop set.

Its a great reference. Also, you can always just google, old school hiphop rnb dj mix, or youtube it, and there is some great, really talented djs.two last pointers. And this works for me as I am playing a hiphop/rnb/reggae club now. Dont play the over played old school, like Nelly- Ride wit me, and crazy in love. Thats not a throwback cuz people are always hearing these tracks still. Try to dig up those tracks that were really hot back in the day but dont get played as often in your city anymore.

So instead of playing like Next- Too Close, why not throw on some Jon B - Don't Stop.try throwing in old school with new school, mash ups, or even use a world play segway, Hotline bling. Mixed with kiss me through the phone. Or like Shorty Swing My Way, with Future & Drake - Come My Way.

You can have alot of fun with that. Im from the south jensen has a good list, all these list on here are pretty good, i dj so im always looking for 90s 00s that i might have forgot, alot of times im just googling songs, or on youtube, its a good streaming site that plays 90s and 00s videos i go there and catch some videos i didn't remember existed i think its ilove90sandearly00s.com, amazon is a good site too alot of times they will have compilation c.d.s and stuff with songs i forgot all about. Hi,Please help me, this may seem a bit impossible. I need to find a song, i dont remember if it was R&B or Reaggae, but like somewhere in between. (don't strangle me)I'm pretty sure it's from the 90's or early 2000.The music video was on the beach and in a saliboat, there were a lor of women dancing. Also a jeep appeared at some point, i think. The singer is foreign but I'm not sure which country, it's a very catchy song. The man/band is not very famous, it was propably a one hit wonder. If someone can give me some options that you might think of I'd really appreciate it!!!Thanks! Quote:I'm must be getting old.No disrespect to anyone but.The boards have filled up with 'people'. Not Dj's but.people.Don't get me wrong, I love people. I Dj for people.I just don't expect a Dj forum to be flooded with.People.I see a LOT of.Pleas help! What's this or that song. How do I use syncHow do I get this song to match that songI played behind someone last weekend and had to ask him how do I turn sync OFF!!!Like I said.Maybe i'm just getting old.im confused did you just say you see alot of people asking how to use sync but you just asked someone your self how to disable it las weekend? Correct me if i missed something. No dis taken. What I meant was.I'm old in this dj game compared to a lot of people.I see what I think are too many people that HAVE to use sync to dj.Too many people that refuse to learn how to truly dj.

Too many people that can't mix by ear.I went behind someone that HAD to use sync because quite frankly. He can't dj to save his life or anyone else's.I loaded a track and could not get it to be at the right speed. Sync was in control. Not me.Because I don't use sync,I could not figure out how to turn the damn thing off.

I kept pushing the button but it would not turn off.i had no idea you had to hit shift and sync at the same time to turn it off.Even with sync on, the dj before me still sucked and he trainwreckd.I am not one of those dj's that think you have to be a purist. I accept new tech but damn.Learn the basics!Learn the music!Learn the craft if you are going to do this in public!!!Yeah. I learned on turntables with actual records. I had to do it the hard way.It would be refreshing to see the younger up n coming generation learn the basics so they can really do the job instead of relying on the machine to do it for them. That's what I meant. Couldn't agree more my dad taught me to beat mix when i was 5 on his technics ill never forget the day i mixed some rick James super freak with legs by zz top and since that day I fell in love with djing. I can DJ on anything and beat mix by ear like its nothing sometimes when the bpm is off n Serato ill count it my self and manually input. And personally, I have sync disabled on Serato.

When I first came into the dvs world of SSL i loved it because the DJ was still in control of everything that shits changing real quick everyone a DJ nowadays.
