Mike Kai October 18, 2017,Except in cases where OEM companies are further locking down access to the boot partition and rescue partitions, such as this Acer Aspire R5 that I have. HDD has a 100MB UEFI partition that handles most everything. It comes with Win10 Home so no BitLocker, no drive encryption option, and VeraCrypt is unable to alter the boot record for installing its own boot manager.
BIOS/UEFI was altered to remove most of the security options and VeraCrypt was still unable to alter anything, thus unable to encrypt the drive or Windows volume.
