Lg Rumor Reflex Drivers For Mac

One year and 3 weeks ago, I purchased a wireless phone for my father. He didn't want a smartphone, only a phone that had a camera and a keyboard for text messaging. The Sprint store I was at had exactly two phone models that met these requirements. The one he chose was an LG Rumor Reflex S.
Prior to purchasing this phone, I was under the impression that LG was a reputable manufacturer of electronics. My father was happy with his new phone until 4 months after its purchase. One day, he tried to turn the phone on and it was stuck in a boot loop: The phone would power on, display a splash screen, reset, power on, display a splash screen, etc. We removed the battery and I Googled around to find numerous complaints of others having this same issue with this LG phone. We took the phone back to the Sprint store where we purchased it and inquired about a replacement for an issue that clearly known to both LG and Sprint. The store's representative pretended this was an issue he had only seen a handful of time and not as rampant as the numerous complaints I referenced online. He further informed us that since we had not purchased a warranty plan for the phone, we had two options: 1) Pay full price for a replacement phone (no discounts for signing a 2-year contract like we had when we purchased this model) or 2) Send the phone to LG as it would be covered under their 1-year manufacturer warranty. (As a side note, if we had purchased the Sprint warranty for this phone, we would be responsible for paying $50 for a replacement phone)
Given that we had signed a 2-year contract for this phone only 4 months prior, we elected to send the phone to LG for replacement. Shipping to LG was paid by us and we paid Sprint for a week of service on this line for which we had no ability to use -- but after one week, we received the phone back. The memory of the phone (pictures, contacts, etc.) was wiped, but the phone was functional again and freed from its boot loop.
Four months later.. the same boot loop issue resurfaces for a second time. Again, we send the phone to LG. They return it and it works again.
Four months later.. the same boot loop issue resurfaces for a THIRD time. Again , we send the phone to LG. They return it and it works again.
Four months later (1 year, 3 weeks since purchasing the phone)..not surprisingly, the same boot loop issue resurfaces for a fourth time. At this point, the phone is no longer covered by the manufacturers warranty.
My question is, does anyone know how to free this phone from its boot loop? If I need to JTAG the phone to reset it, that is fine -- just wanting to know if anyone has insight into interacting with this specific model?
Eventually I will purchase a replacement phone. This experience has already made me swear to never buy another LG product (whether it be a phone, TV, or computer monitor) and Sprint's decision to sell this pile of garbage and not demand that LG provide a fix to its customers has me anxious to switch to Verizon as soon as the contract is fulfilled.
I also hope anyone who is considering the purchase of an LG phone will come across this post and spare themselves some headache. The two Samsung phones I purchased at the time this LG phone was purchased continue to function flawlessly.
